ARTHUR F. MCINTYRE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Supporting your future

Every year, members who are in high school or attending college can apply for the Arthur F. McIntyre Scholarship. We strive for member success, every step of the way.

Our Past, Supporting Your Future

In 1951, Arthur F. McIntyre became the first manager of SF Fire Credit Union. He spent his time here tirelessly working to improve not only the credit union, but the Bay Area community as a whole.

Every year, his scholarship awards $2,500 to high school and college-level students. At least two scholarships are awarded at each level. We are proud to honor his legacy by investing in our members' future.

About

Arthur F. McIntyre

After 30 years of service, Arthur retired from the San Francisco Fire Department in 1976. He spent most of his career at Engine 17, located behind the Mint at 5th and Jessie.

Arthur was dedicated to the idea of service. He was a WWII Veteran, a referee for High School and College basketball, a supervisor of the officials for the Pac Ten Conference, and was a key advocate for improving working conditions for San Francisco Firefighters.

In 1951, Fire Chief Edward Walsh asked Arthur to become the first manager of SF Fire Credit Union. Without his expansive vision and tireless efforts, SF Fire Credit Union would not be what it is today.
