The Novato Fire District will hold its annual open house at all 5 fire stations Sunday, October 6, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
In addition, the public is invited to attend a live demonstration of firefighters in action the same day at NFD Station 62, located at 450 Atherton Ave. The live demonstration is from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Also open will be the Novato Fire Museum located at 95 Rowland Way. The Open House is to kick off National Fire Prevention Week which is from October 6-12, 2013. The theme for this year’s event is “Prevent Kitchen Fires”.
Come out to any of the five Novato Fire Stations and Fire Museum to meet your local firefighters. Children will enjoy sitting on the fire engines, touching the equipment, getting stickers, plastic fire hats, and coloring pages, all while learning important fire safety lessons; there are great photo opportunities, too.
