We'd Like to Show Our Gratitude
As we celebrate International Credit Union (ICU) Day on October 17th with more than 186 million people worldwide, we'd like to take the time to recognize our members and show our gratitude.
People Helping People
This year's theme is "Credit Unions Unite for Good: A Better Way." Today is a great day to remember that as a credit union member, you belong to a global movement in which people help people. Credit unions exist to serve you, the member, not to increase the bottom line. By members pooling resources, we strengthen the communities we serve - this is what sets credit unions apart from other financial institutions.
Irrespective of the amount you have on deposit with us, you are a member and an owner, with equal ownership and one vote. Members are never just numbers; your ownership empowers you and provides you with a voice.
Educating Our Community
In addition to products and services, credit unions offer education and training programs, as well as financial advisors. In fact, we have an exciting event coming up on October 30th just for First Time Homebuyers - be sure to RSVP online if you'd like to attend! Credit unions, ours included, actively focus on creating fiscally responsible members through a wide variety of education programs, which we hope will positively impact savings and spending habits for a lifetime.
